Saved plans

MV-Plan can keep your dive plans so you can reload them later, duplicate them or move them from one device to another. Plans are stored on your device.

Saving a plan

Once you have computed a plan on the Plan page, click Save Plan. Give the plan a name and confirm. The whole plan is kept: segments, gases, settings and results.

The list of plans

Each saved plan shows:

• its name;
• a summary: maximum depth, bottom time and runtime;
• its metadata: mode (OC or CCR), gradient factors and date of creation.

The runtime shown in the list is frozen at the moment you saved. It is not recomputed when the list is drawn. Since the move to real physical pressure, a plan saved before that change recomputes with slightly longer stops: the summary in the list therefore reads shorter than what MV-Plan would compute today. Load the plan and run the calculation again to get today's figure. To find out which side of the change you are on, the New pressure model page names the setting to look at in the application.

What is saved, and what is not

A plan keeps its segments, its gases, its diluents, its calculation settings (gradient factors, rates, ppO2), its rebreather configuration and its environment, that is the water type and the altitude it was computed for.

Plans saved before that setting existed carry no environment. They are read back as computed at sea level, in salt water, and not with the environment currently shown in your settings: it is the only fallback that does not turn a sea wreck plan into an altitude lake plan. Check the Environment line of a loaded plan, and compute it again if MV-Plan warns that it was calculated for another water type or another altitude.

Loading a plan deliberately clears the old result: nothing shows until you run Calculate Decompression again, and what you see then is always today's calculation.

What you can do with a plan

The menu of each plan (three-dot icon) offers:

• Load: loads the plan back into the application and switches to the Plan page.
• Rename: changes the name of the plan.
• Duplicate: makes a copy of the plan.
• Export: downloads the plan to a file (JSON format).
• Delete: removes the plan after confirmation.

Importing a plan

Click Import to load a plan from a file exported earlier. The imported plan is added to your list. This is how you move a plan from one device to another, or share it with a buddy who uses MV-Plan.

If the file is not valid, an error message is shown and the import is cancelled.
